Anthony Joh has been a world traveler since birth, having grown up in Japan, USA and eventually settling in Canada. He’s been a business savvy entrepreneur ever since his first venture selling newspapers at the age of 9. After a decade of running his successful chain of auto detailing centres Anthony decided it was time to head out on the road again and took off to Europe to indulge in his passion for classic European cars.
“Driving a classic racing car in Germany on the famed Nürburgring was a fulfilment of a lifelong dream and one of the many highlights of my time in Europe.”
Arriving in Bangkok, Thailand Anthony launched Bangkok Podcast which was Thailand’s first weekly English language podcast. The goal of the podcast was to bridge the gap between the expat and Thai communities by interviewing both Thais and expats who had an interesting story to tell.
“Running Bangkok Podcast was definitely the highlight of my time in Thailand. I was privileged to be able to interview everyone from Ambassadors, TV stars, travel writers, movie producers, monks and ordinary people with extraordinary lives. I learned a lot about Thailand and Thai culture and my proudest moments was the feedback I received from Thais who would tell me how much they loved the show and how it taught them something new about their country.”
Now living in Tokyo, Japan Anthony has once again taken to the airwaves and can be heard every Monday morning at Tokyo Podcast.
